Privacy is of great importance to Biketraveleurope.com. We will do everything we can to safeguard your privacy as best as possible. However, we do require some of your information for bookings and communication. Below you can read what data we collect.
Booking
When you book a trip, the data you provide is recorded by us. We collect information including:

What do we use this information for?
Your information is needed to process requests, provide you with details about your trip, communicate with you regarding the booking, ensure the trip runs smoothly, and handle the booking and payment.
Your dietary information is shared with the hotel or other travel service providers that handle meals, and only if you give permission when it involves a medical or religious reason.
With your consent, your medical information is shared with the travel service provider if they need to be aware of it for the needs you’ve indicated, your safety, or the safety of others.
Name, address, bank details, and information about the booked trip, costs, and payment are processed for accounting purposes, accounts receivable administration, and collection activities.
Your data may be used for legitimate business interests or those of third parties, such as complaint handling, disputes, and legal claims, provided your interests do not override these.
Legal Basis
We collect your data for the execution of the agreement we have with you. In addition, data is processed based on the legitimate interests of the company and third parties, as long as your interests do not prevail. Furthermore, data is collected to meet legal obligations, particularly the obligation to maintain accounting records.
How long do we keep your data?
Unless otherwise specified, personal data will be stored for up to four years after the trip.
Medical data will be deleted immediately after the trip.
Data necessary for tax records will be stored for the legally required retention period (usually 7 years).
Deviations from the above retention periods may occur due to legal obligations or legitimate interests of the company or third parties, provided your interests do not prevail. For example, data may be retained for complaints, disputes, or legal claims for up to two years after the matter is resolved.
With whom do we share your data?
We share your data with travel service providers such as hotels and accommodations if and when necessary for proper execution of the trip, to meet your stated needs, or to ensure your safety or that of others.
We use external processors for handling data, such as booking systems, accounting software, email systems, financial administration, and payment and collection services.
Newsletter and Comments
We collect data including your name and email address.
When you subscribe to the newsletter, leave a comment, or become a customer, we use your data to send you our digital newsletter. We ask for your name to personalize the greeting in the newsletter.
Legal Basis
If you are not yet a customer, we process your data based on your consent to receive the newsletter. If you are already a customer, we send you the newsletter based on our legitimate commercial interest in providing you with the latest travel offers.
How long do we keep your data?
Your data will be stored for these purposes until you unsubscribe. You can find unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of every newsletter.
With whom do we share your data?
We use Mailchimp to send our newsletter. We follow Mailchimp’s privacy guidelines and have entered into a data processing agreement with them.
Embedded Content from Other Sites
Posts on this site may contain embedded content (e.g., videos, images, posts, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor had visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that site.
Cookies and Profiling
When you leave a comment on our site, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. This is for your convenience so you don’t have to fill in these details again. These cookies are valid for one year.

Complaints
We collect information such as your name, the trip you took, your complaint, and any other information you provide in your complaint.
What do we use this information for?
We use this data for internal evaluation of the complaint.
If the complaint concerns the execution of the trip, we provide feedback to the relevant travel service provider and request a response.
Your data may be used for a legitimate interest of the company or third parties, such as handling disputes and legal claims, provided your interests do not prevail.

We collect your data based on the execution of our agreement. Additionally, data is processed on the grounds of the legitimate interests of the company and travel service providers in proper complaint handling, as long as your interests do not override them.
How long do we keep your data?
Complaint-related data will be stored for up to 2 years after the complaint is handled.
With whom do we share your data?
If applicable, relevant personal data and complaint details may be shared with and discussed with the travel service provider, our legal advisor and/or insurer, and dispute resolution entities.
Security
We take all appropriate organizational and technical precautions to protect your personal data and require third parties who process your data to do the same. This includes:
